From the age of eleven, numerous awards at national and international competitions have marked the progress of Ukrainian pianist ALEXEJ GORLATCH, born in Kiev in 1988.

Recent achievements have included winning the first prize at the Axa Piano competition in Dublin, Ireland and the Silver Medal at the prestigious 2009 Leeds Piano competition in the UK " for a performance of Beethoven's Emperor Concerto that was immaculate in its poetry and aggression." (The Guardian). In 2006, Alexej was First Prize winner of the prestigious Hamamatsu International Piano Competition 2006 in Japan, won the Audience Favourite Prize of the Beethoven International Piano Competition in Bonn 2007 and the highly reputed German Musikpreis 2008 as the first pianist in recent 15 years.

Alexej Gorlatch’s burgeoning career has seen him participate in the International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdroj, Harrogate Festival in the UK and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and give acclaimed recitals at Carnegie Hall in New York, Wigmore Hall in London, the Salle Cortot in Paris and the Kioi Hall in Tokyo, amongst other prestigious music centres.  He has played concertos with leading orchestras of Japan including the NHK, Tokyo Symphony, Yomiuri Symphony and Nagoya Philharmonic, as well as Hallé Manchester, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Johannesburg Philharmonic, the State National Orchestra of the Ukraine and numerous orchestras in Germany.
