Camerata de Lausanne

Chamber Orchestra

Founded in 2002 by Pierre Amoyal at the Lausanne Conservatory, the Camerata de Lausanne upholds the tradition of playing large-scale chamber music without a conductor.

With Pierre Amoyal at the helm the core group comprises six violinists, three violists, three cellists and one double bassist, the size varying depending on the repertoire being performed. These talented young musicians from diverse backgrounds come together to form a homogeneous ensemble, dynamic and bound by the same instrumental tradition. With a selection of the finest musicians from the last ten years of Camerata de Lausanne's existence, the ensemble recently became an independent professional chamber orchestra.
