Henri Barda studied in Egypt in his youth with Polish pianist Ignaz Tiegerman, then in Paris with Lazare Levy. Then he went on with the Conservatoire de Paris then the New-York Juilliard School as a full scholarship student. He has been performing in Europe, the US, Japan where he played with the NHK orchestra at his first visit. He worked with Jerome Robbins at the Paris Opera creating his ballets on Chopin. His recording of the three Chopin Sonatas won the Warsaw Chopin Disc Award. He has held a piano class at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris for twelve years. Now he is a professor in École Normale de Musique de Paris.  Almost every year, Henri comes to Japan and holds masterclass in Kobe.
