Kyuhee Park was born in Incheon, South Korea, in 1985. She started studying guitar at the age of 3. 


She won the 1st prize in the youth division of the National Korean Guitar Competition at the age of 9.


In 2004, she entered the Tokyo College of Music. She participated in an opera-tour which was conducted by Maestro Seiji Ozawa. 


She graduated at the top of the class at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna in 2014, and also graduated as a top-grade student at “the Master in Classical Guitar Performance” organized by the University of Alicante.


She has studied with Shin-ichi Fukuda and Kiyoshi Shomura who are Japanese leading classical guitarists and with Alvaro Pierri.


 


She has gotten many prizes at various competitions. 


1st prize at Korean guitar music competition in 2005, 1st prize and audience prize at Heinsberg international guitar competition in 2007, 2nd prize at Koblenz international guitar competition in 2008, 


1st prize at Printemps de la Guitare international competition in 2008 (She was the 1st prize winner as female and also as Asian in this competition history), 


2nd prize and young artist prize at Michele Pittaluga International Classical Guitar Competition in 2009, 


1st prize at Luys Milan International Guitar Competition in 2009. 


1st prize at Agustin Barrios International Guitar Competition in 2010 and 1st prize and audience prize at  Alhambra International Guitar Competition in 2012. 


 


She has released 2 recordings from FONTEC ( “Sueno” 2010, “Sonata Noir” 2012) and 4 recordings from NIPPON COLUMBIA (“Spanish journey” 2012, “El Ultimo Tremolo” 2013, “SAUDADE ” 2014 and “FAVORITE SELECTION” 2015). Those CDs have highly acclaimed and moreover the sales are extraordinary among the world of classical guitar. Her latest recording “Harmonia” has been released from NIPPON COLUMBIA in February, 2018. 


She has repeatedly appeared on classic music TV and FM radio programs of NHK. She has performed as soloist with the major orchestras in Japan.


At present, she performs in Europe, Japan and Korea. 


Her performance and especially her tremolo technique highly acclaimed and she gathered broad attention in the world.
